last night i had a friend drop off a 5 gallon bucket of grapes. i sat the bucket in the fridge as it was too late to do anything with, but i plan on starting it tonight. my question is should i freeze the grapes like i do with other fruits to help break it down or should i just start to crushing? i've never made a wine with grapes before and could use alittle help.

Thanks

Ben

You won't need to freeze them, but keep them cool until you crush.

On this forum under tutorials, you will find lots of info to help you get started. I'd spend some time there; if you still have questions, we can help you.

yes if you freeze the grapes it will help break them down

What Julie says is true. That is one advantage of buying frozen grape buckets. What I meant to say is it isn't "required" they be frozen.
