Not very. That filter will only remove sizeable chunks of stuff, which you can see with the naked eye.

what do you think would do a good job filtering for cheap i am not sure if i want spend the money on a buon vino mini jet

Why do you want to filter your wine?

I have been making wine and reading this forum for almost 2 years. When I first started I bought a starter kit and several other items including a filter. The filter is the one thing that I have never used. Wine will usually (IMO) clear well enough for most of us without filtering if done properly. If you intend entering your wines in competitions then filtering it will be necessary. Wine that has not been allowed to clear properly will be difficult to filter. I'm obviously not an expert but my advise would be spend the money on something you really need.
