New to Wine Making

Hi all..My name is Charlie and I am new to wine making. I started off this past week with store bought grape juice to experiment and see if I could make something that slightly resembled alcohol. I had a bit of an issue with a rotten egg smell and thanks to this site I think I may have cleared it up by splash racking and copper tubing. I Just started another batch this afternoon just in case and I think I did everything right. I now have a hydrometer, campden, potassium sorbate and bentonite and an oak barrel on the way. I love red wine not too dry and I usually am good for a half of glass with dinner every night. I hope to be able to learn more by reading and listening.

Welcome to winemakingtalk. You should look into buying a kit, that is a great way to get some good wines and a huge learning process comes right along with it.
