Hi all,
I just started fermentation on a Muscat Blanc and something unusual happened.
Initial SG was 1.100 (23.7BRIX)
After pitching the yeast, in the first 15 hours SG increased gradually to 1.117 (27.6 BRIX)
Three hours later it went down to ISG of 1.1,
This is not reading error, last year happened also, with different yeast.
At that time I just scratched my head and forgot about it.
The hydrometer used is a Tilt wireless, floating in the must at all times.
Does anyone have an explanation, is this normal?
BTW, I did not notice this phenomena with my Cabernet Sauvignon.
Thanks,
John
