Hello newbie here only made 2 batches. I just started a Welchs frozen wine and I followed the recipe I found on here. I made 1 gal in a 2 1/2 gal glass carboy. I added enough sugar to bring the SG to 1090 total sugar is about 40 oz. I let it sit 12 hours before adding my yeast.

Here's my question after 12hrs I added a whole packet of 1188 yeast. It's fermenting fine after 48hrs but I was told I used to much yeast and when the wine is done it will taste very yeasty.

Is this true? Can I use something to get rid of the yeast taste if there is one? Any help would be great.

You are probably going to have a yeast taste in it right away, but it ususally falls away with time in the carboy or bottle. Arne.

You are fine, I use a whole packet whether I am making 1 gal. or 6 gal. and have no issues.

Read the package, It says 1 packet is for 1 to 5 imp gallons or 1 to 6 us gallons.
