We just finished adding the bentonite and the directions say the specific gravity and temp should be 1.080 - 1.090, and we are at 1.060 and 15 deg Celsius . Is this anything we should be concerned with or do anything to get it closer to the directions

Give it a good stir and remeasure SG. A common cause for kits not being in the expected range seems to be simply not enough stirring.

Please provide the EXACT name of the kit when asking questions about kits. There are some kits that should have a starting sg of 1.060, but that is indicated in the instructions. However, it IS possible that the wrong instructions found their way into your package.

Follow boatboy24's suggestion, it is probably the right answer.
