What did you spray? That looks a lot like my garden a couple years back when my neighbor spot sprayed for weeds when the wind was blowing. Every plant I had turned black from the edges inward and died. Maybe some new growth will put out.

At the local Walmart tonight I found 3 and 5 gallon plastic water bottles, Bisphenol A free, for $6 and $8 each. They are not as heavy as the Primo water jugs but shaped the same. I got a 3 gallon thinking even if it doesn't last as long as a Better Bottle (altho it feels like the same weight...

I was wondering the same thing. I have a number of the Carlo Rossi jugs with screw tops, and i wondered if I could sanitize the caps and age in that.

Thanks for the replies..:) The wine had reached .998 before I added the Campden, I used 1 tab per gallon crushed. I did not see any sediment so I didn't rack it. I see now why you degas!! So if I'm understanding correctly, at this point I need to rack it, make sure it is degassed, leave it...

Ok.. dumb question here I'm sure.. but I like the fizzyness when I've tasted during racking.. will it spoil if you don't degas??

My dad made some wonderful wine and beer when I was a kid. I wish I had paid more attention !! I finally decided this year to try my hand at some fermentation, and it seems like the more I read here and learn, the more questions I have.. I currently have 3 gal of Muscadine in a Better Bottle...

The article I read stated to drink AT LEAST seven glasses per week... I made sure my t - totalling hubby read that part..:)
