I was tought that k-meta and campden tabs were the same thing. the tabs were better for doing small batches, as it is 1 tab per gal. as k-met is 1/4 tsp(i think) per 5-6 gal. Someone please tell me if this info is false, but thats the way it was explained to me.

My buddy wants to make a batch of watermelon wine 2day, all we have in the house is champagne yeast. Never used that yeast for anything other than raging beer, so im not sure of how this will turn out as a wine. Any imput as to flavors? should it turn out fine?
Brewing software will help you make a more rounded beer and take alot of guess work outa things. There are tons of em out there. I have promash($9.99 i think) or go to our sister site homebrewtalk.com in the one forum(brewing software) there is a link for a good free one called brewtarget.

I decided not to make the wine. to much other stuff going on between tending hops plants and preping house for sale and move(and sons grad party). so the strawberries are gonna get mixed with some other alcohol and made into a slushi smoothie drink thing for swmbo.
sctochbrite(i think) pads if you dont want to use a razor blade. you know those green abrasive pads for dishes and cleaning. they work well for the leftove glue as well.

This is why like with beer, I account for this loss and have like a 1/2 g over my desired volume. this way after all loss Im usually right at my desired volume(or over :) over is good)
