My new ph meter showed up today looking like this! Will it clean up, or should I send it back?
Should be OK, looks like the bottle of electrode storage solution leaked in transit. Just pull off the bottle and rinse the electrode with distilled H20 and check the level if the electrode is not a sealed type.
Yes, looks like it's leaked for awhile. All crystallized. Ok. I'll clean it up.
Let the seller decide. Regardless if it works or not, knowing you have advised the seller will preserve your right to return. You don't know how long it has been dry nor whether the membrane has been affected

What Brand and model of PH meter is this?

My Milwaukee MW102 arrived in the same condition a couple months ago.
I simply wiped it down with a bit of distilled water as Mike suggests.
If I leave it without any use for a week or two, it still weeps a bit and forms those crystals.
I don't think there is any harm. Just follow the manufacturers recommendation for storage.

Those crystals are common. Nothing to be alarmed about.
Thanks Tony49. Yes it's a Milwaukee MW102. Guess I will store it upright.

You're less likely to get the crystals if you store it in actual storage solution rather than anything else. Again they are nothing to worry about.
