Looking forward to the Syrah and the Nero D'Avola here. I made the RJS Limited Edition Nero D'Avola a few years back, and it has turned out quite nice.

Yeah, but I typically like to back sweeten with the juice varietal the wine came from, of some sorts, instead of just sugar.
 
Make your own then, withold some juice and fortify it with some simple syrup. You could also use some Alexander's Cab Suav concentrate. Lots of ways to do this IF you want to.

12% is the right one for me in whites....:db
