How is your 'own wine' - divided by - 'bought wine' quota?
I think I'm a 32r or something.. (just a brief calc - I don't buy much wine..
My current inventory is 300+ homemade to 6 store bought, some of which I will use as I blend into my blackberry chocolate port.
I was on the road to self sufficiency but this year I was jut too busy to make much wine so we are probably drinking 4:1 purchased to homemade wine.

My radio of home made to commercial is probably 4:1
I was 100% for a good stretch, but there's been a holdup in the bottle department. It's 100% bought for the last few weeks and I was told to get my act together. The old faithful brands aren't as appreciated as the homemade.

I didn't buy wine for the last 3-4 months.
About 2:1 for me. I keep opening bottles of my wine, in the interest of science.

95% my own. Store bought still on shelf is mostly port.
Walked down the wine aisle for the first time in a year or two and everything is up at least 5 bucks a bottle. Even the bottom shelf brands that aren't as good as two-buck-chuck are $4.99. Crazy.

My wife and I have been picking up the heck out of that $4.99 / bottle from Costco. A Spanish Gernache/Syrah blend. I can't figure out how you make a bottle, cap it (not cork, so cheaper there), ship and store it to Costco (3-4 pallets per store) and then they sell it for $5 a bottle.
I suppose high crop loads, limited water, limited spray program. but even so there has to about $0.25 to $0.50/ bottle just in the bottle. with Tax and Import costs you are up to around $2.50-3.00 / bottle. The margins must be super, super thin. The cheapest I can make a bottle of wine for is around $2.50, with new bottle, cork, and no labor cost.
Oh and it's really pretty darn good wine for that price.
For the record we are at about 65-70% our own wines. We are down a bit from our max, since we "only" make about 30 gallons / year anymore, maybe even less.

I've been making Country wines and some grape wine for almost 67 years. I've always bought wine as well, to see if I could make wine as good as commercial (not the same as). Sometimes I've succeeded, sometimes not, but I'm still trying!
I'm at about 85% my own wines now. I visit a winery that used to be owned by a friend's cousins, but since they sold it and since I have been making my own, I have cut way back on my purchases there.
Most of our purchases other than from that winery are one or two bottles here and there to see if I would want to make that kind of wine.

I think my current inventory is about 5:1 homemade: commercial, though I suspect that ratio increases with every year...
Without doing much calculating we are probably 70% to 80% homemade. This is bottled wine and not the 21, 22 and 23 vintages still in bulk. Which is close to 1000 bottles.
1000 bottles? so, about a week's worth. correct?
a percentage was probably the better way... ofcourse mr overcomplicated brain...
