I may be getting ahead of myself, but I have my first batch of wine in secondary(chiraz), which seems to be moving along great so far:)
however, I have started another batch of white wine and I am 2nd day in. We are planning on going to our cottage this Friday, which will be day 8. It has already stated fermenting and I am guessing I will be able to rack to secondary by Friday. Would you feel comfortable leaving a heat belt on your wine in a glass carboy for a couple days?
We usually just leave our heat pump on when we go away in winter (I can leave it right in front of it) our main source of heat is our wood stove. It will probably on be about 65 or so.
Thoughts?

Personally I wouldn't worry about it. When you come back and warm things up it should finish out no problems. It might be a bit slower than usual, but should be fine. Arne.
