So I started a paklabs italia 4-week wine kit.

The SG was .094 not between .080 and .090

What to do?

It smelled a bit fermented right out of bag? Said it was packed Jan 2014. I did have sitting in my closet last month because I did not have a carboy freed up yet.

I only did 5 gals, not the 6, cuz I read on amazon review that gave it a fuller body.

I started process last night... bentonite and yeast anyway. But any enlightenment, suggestions or encouragement would be appreciated.

Since you only made 5 gallons the concentrate wasn't diluted properly thus raising the sg. If you add a gallon of water the sg will be In the specified range

I don't think it would hurt anything? I've never tried it myself tho

Thanks Calvin! You made my week! I can relax and enjoy. APPRECIATE. ...unless your wrong... oh no... now I'm wine nervy again... ;)

RonInHollywood...

Please note that your sg is actually 1.094. It's not important for this question as everybody understood. However, once fermentation is over, if you try to calculate the %alc, you will have problems.
