Water Bottle's for Carboys

Can I use a plastic 3 gallon "Culligan" water bottle for a carboy?

only for secondary.
This has been tossed around for years. What was decided is plastic water bottles will let O2 in and may cause wine to oxidize over time. So secondary only NOT long term storage.

Best to do a search of our archives here, read the opinions and make your own mind up.. I use these to bulk store for around 6-9 months with no issues to date.
