The Calbuco volcano erupted, first time since 1972. Chilean authorities have ordered evacuation of thousands in a near by town. First and formost I hope the people are all safe, my prayers go out to them; but I also wonder how this is going to affect the southern wine region, and economics.

It appears that the volcano was about 800 kilometers south of the Curico Valley wine region where our juice comes from. It should not disrupt production there.

That's sad news. I hope the damage is kept to a minimum. If I recall correctly, it was right about this time last year that they had a few large earthquakes down there. Mother Nature seems to want to mess with the harvest, doesn't she?

I agree, vines can be replanted. My heart goes out to Chile, or any place that goes through such a devastation, and then to have to pick up the pieces of their lives and rebuild the best they can.
