A man and his wife were driving home from a night out when a police officer pulled them over. The following conversation ensued.
PO: Sir, did you know your right tail light is out?
Husband: No, officer, I didn't.
Wife: Yes you did, honey. I told you about that last week.
PO (speaking to frustrated husband): Well, in that case,sir, I will need to write you a citation. Can I see your license and registration, please?
(Husband fumes and gives his wife an angry glance as he complies with the officer's request)
PO: Sir, did you know your registration is expired?
Husband: Why no, officer, I didn't.
Wife: Yes, you did, dear. I told you about the registration 2 weeks ago.
Husband (in an overtly angry tone): You're not helping. Why don't you just sit there and keep your mouth shut.
PO: Whoa, that's no way to talk to your wife. (Leaning down to make eye contact with the wife) Ma'am, does he always talk to you that way?
Wife (sweetly): Not always...only when he's been drinking.
