Has anyone used a refractometer for anything besides grapes? I am asking to see if it would work on cane that we make sorghum with to see if it's ready before it frosts???

I see they are anywhere from $23.00+ shipping and up.
TIA

The brix are low (about 13) but you need to know where it is so you can adjust sugar for fermentation. I thawed six of them out in a zip lock bag and smashed them. I was able to get enough drops for a reading.

Thanks Dan!

Looking back through some old threads and came across one from NorthernWinos, good people!!
