I made a WE Port kit this January, actually it was my 1st kit and what got me started on this road.
I had a 1/2 bottle staring at me to test it out now that it's been a while aging nicely. I know it needs more time..... The rest are stored safely away.
Many mentions on here of adding Brandy to fortify it. I was looking for some in the special cabinet and I don't have any. But I had Triple Sec. So glass of port and shot of this was really good. Gave it a slight orange flavor and increased the alcohol level just enough. I will probably do this again with some other liquors and see how they are.
I'm wondering now if adding those nipper size flavor bottles (the ones to make generic liquors w/ vodka) would be worth trying on a 3 gallon batch?
Just thinking outside the box based on that thread of fixing wines.
