Hi all!

Do you guys know any novel featuring wine making?
Thinking back, I think it's reading Mo Yan's novel "The Republic of Wine" that got me started. Unusual, but it describes fruit wine making (in a crazy way) and lots of brandy...

Nothing would go better along than homemade wine with a good novel about it ;P

P.S.: Or just books where wine plays a prominent role!

There's a Nora Roberts novel where the main characters are owners of a winery. The story was not bad.

I love Nora Roberts books. Which one is this, I can't seem to remember.

The Cossacks by Tolstoy features a lot of "Chikir" and some elements of viticulture.. But I would not say the novel is focused on it.

Try "A vineyard in Tuscany" by Ferenc Mate. It is a true account of restoring an old 13th century abbey and converting it into a winery and vineyard. Very entertaining.

I picked up an old copy of "Labourers in the Vineyard" by Colin Thiele - set amongst the Barossa Deutsch community in SA. Looks like an interesting snapshot of a unique regional culture, haven't read it yet though!
