richmike, interesting math. How did you come up with = 0.991

I'm sure there are more direct calculators out there. But a quick search:

Use "Brix to Gravity during and after fermentation converter"

Use this to convert SG to Brix
http://www.brewersfriend.com/brix-converter/

SG of 1.080 is 19.3 Brix
SG of 1.025 is 6.3 Brix
Plug that into the first calculator above gives you a Current Gravity of 0.991
 
do not throw out your refractometer. follow the link suggested by sour grapes at valley vintner. he has a spread sheet you can down load that converts the refracometer readings to sg. it is easier to monitor the fermentation using one drop of must in the refractomer than using a testing jar for the hydrometer.
