Just bought fresh Regina juice. The guy at the store said that fresh juice wouldn't benefit from MLF. Usually MLF is used in crushed grapes.

Any thoughts on MLF with fresh juice?

Just saw in your other post that you bought the Regina Pope juice, which is what I got too.
I co-inoculated VP41 during fermentation with it.
A far as yeast, my bucket started going off on wild yeast. I rehydrated Avante yeast and added, but not sure which yeast actually fermented the bucket.
About the Chateuneuf du Pape- i purchased on a whim. Don't know much about it. So far it's got a MUCH different profile than the typical wines I've made (cab/merlot/sangio/Pinot). More "sharp" and ..... difficult to describe. Just different than I'm used to. Hope that's what it's supposed to taste like. I read it's a Grenache based blend. I've never had Grenache before though.
Did you purchase in Philly?

No--that guy is wrong. Many reds benefit from MLF---by grape or by juice bucket. We MLF lots of juice buckets.

AJ, I got it in Long Island NY - A&P Grape Distributors.

Thanks Turock - Going to try my first MLF.
