A very interesting read on the history of grape production in Michigan. I was born and raised in Monroe county and my high school sat about 100 yds from the Raisin River.
I have a friend that has started a vineyard on the same property that his great -great grandfather had started in the 1870's. He had grown grapes and sold them to area wineries up until prohibition.
