I was in NYC yesterday and went to a really nice little restaurant/bar about 2 blocks from my son's place to have a drink late last night. I had a glass of Pinot Gris. and it cost $9.00!!!

I did manage to get a case of empty wine bottles from the bartender tho!

So what's the most you've paid for a glass of wine?

Paid $25 once for two fingers of Opus One. That was at the vineyard/winery in Napa, though and the view from the top of the winery was outstanding. Not the type of thing you want to do every trip.

1 oz taste of ice wine at Heidelburg Castle $5
375ml bottle of said ice wine $64

Getting into wine making from tasting ice wine $$$$$

Sharing home made wine with family and friends priceless

I paid $70.00 for a glass of Fonseca 1970 port. It was the best glass of wine I have ever had

! Fortunately, I was on the company expense account at the time, but I wish I had a cellar full of the stuff. If you ever have the opportunity to have a vintage port from 1970 or 1977, take it!
