Hello everyone:) I am new here, and thankgod I found this site!!! I am new to making wine from scratch, I have done a few kits that turned out really good, but wanted to try my hand at wine from berries. Everything is experimental at this point, my first question to the experts out there is blackberry wine, I just racked my first batch last night, it looked rather "RED" in colour not black... Is this normal? And I tested it with my hydrometer and the reading was 0.990 then I tested it with my vino meter and it read 10%. It tasted rather tarty!! Not to sure if this is all normal or not.. It's only 3 weeks in the making..... Thoughts???
