I'm hoping this will be permitted - I'm pasting in a link to a video about how to keep poison ivy from ruining a berry picking outing or any other outing in the 'wild' for that matter.

It is probably no surprise for the old hands but then again...
I can only add one thing to these words of wisdom from experience - Use cold or cool water to keep pores closed while you follow these words of wisdom.

When I was younger (about 45 years ago), my brother and I would always get a poison rash and we went to our family doctor and he gave us shots. 3 the 1st year, 2 the 2nd year and 1 the 3rd year. After that, I didn't get poison for about 20 years. I went back to him to see if I could get the shots again, and he told me that they were taken off the market because someone claimed they didn't work. What a stupid world we live in.
