Brew belt or ?

Hi there guys-n-gals


So I'm looking to order up a brew belt but of course see the warnings on using them on glass, I'm guessing this may be an old question about using them on the carboys. Is there any threads I should read on this?


Have many of you used them on the glass? and I'm thinking that using them with a copper or aluminum sheet/mesh between the heater/glass might beless stresson the glass and even out the heat, has anybody tried doing this or anything besides the wedges?

Old wives tale.

They are just covering their ask. No problems putting it right on the glass carboy.

Ive been using them on glass for many years with no issues at all. Just dont put one on a carboy that is like 45* cause the brew belt will heat that area up quick and that could cause it to crack from the temp differential.
