Hey All! Does anyone use a "commerical" style bottle rinser? One that can be hooked directly to plumbing for fresh water rinsing?

I'm in the process of building my new "Brew Room" and wanted something a little more efficient in rinsing bottles that just using the tap for fresh water.

I see Hamilton Beach makes one. but is is listed as a blender contrainer rinser, and not sure the nozzle will fit on the opening of a wine bottle

Thx!!

Hey Dom! What quantity are we talking about? A case at a time, 1 at a time? Large format bottles like Jeroboams/demijohns also, or just standard 750mL?

Hey TJ, I was thinking 1 bottle at a time. For 750 mL bottles!
How many bottles do you typically clean at a time? I've never heard of a commercial cleaning solution for 1x 750mL at a time. o_O

If I needed to clean only 2 or 3 750mL bottles, I'd grab some PBW or LD Carlson's, mix it in a bucket with some trusted water source, dip, shake, dump. lol

Sorry for not answering your question, but this is something I've used: https://morewinepro.com/products/stainless-steel-bottle-washer.html

The issue with it is that it isn't made for sanitation, it's made for rinsing only. So not really an all-in-one solution like the fast-rack system, which I use in my winery:

If you need to sterilize (most do not need to do this unless recycling bottles) you need a steam system that exceeds boiling point (100°C). This is one I've seen before but I think it is overkill for 99% of users.

My understanding is that sterilization isn't necessary for wine, due to the low pH and high ABV, and as you noted, it's not feasible for home winemakers.

If you're just doing a bottle at a time - even a case at a time - I'm not sure you need a fancy, automated solution. I have a tub which I fill with acidified water containing KMBS (K-meta) and dunk my bottles in there for a few minutes before setting them in an old wine rack (turned on its side) over a towel to drip dry. Going in, the bottles are fairly clean - I typically rinse them twice soon after emptying them before putting into storage. If a bottle has really crusted on deposits, it just doesn't make it into the next bottling rotation...

I mostly fill my bottling bucket with starsan solution. I then use my racking siphon setup to put a small amount of the solution in each bottle, shake up the solution, empty, and put them upside down in a drying rack. This rinses my bottles, my siphon and my bottling bucket all at the same time. I have never had any issues.
