I am trying to figure out why a bottle of my Cab Sav del Veneto tasted BAD!!!! WAY bad!!
It has been in the bottle 13 months.
I have opened 2 previous bottles and they were good.
I believe this kit came with corks.
I plan on opening another bottle tonight.

Any thoughts~

Not for sure uav but most likely that darn cork?

Or maybe what food did you accompany it with? Sardines or Saurkraut might do it

Can you be a little more descriptive than BAD? Different problems usually result in different off flavors.

Cork taint will normally have a moldy, musty, wet newspaper type of aroma/taste.

Scott, it definitely would have been the sardines and saurkraut!!!!

Smurfe, whatever it was, it was that bottle only....so far. I opened a bottle last night and the wine was wonderful.
I am guessing the cork was contaminated in some way. I don't usually k-met my corks before corking. But maybe I should??? The bottles were cleaned and sanitized before bottling.
