    Painted Wine Press

My father painted my wine press using Tremclad pain. I believe this was a mistake and am looking for input. I'm very reluctant to use it given it was painted; does the community have any thoughts on the risks? Also, if I grind it off do you think that is godo enough? my press is cast iron and...

Whole grapes vs. pressed grapes for primary with blackberries?

We let our 20, 3 year old vines produce just 1 bunch of grapes per arm this year....just to see what the grapes taste like. I harvested enough to maybe make a 1 gallon batch and froze them. Can I add them whole to my primary along with enough blackberries (have 40 pounds of those) to make a...

    Apple wine/Cider without apple press

Hi all, hopefully this is the right place and I haven't missed any relevant threads when I searched. I have about 1.5kg of (currently diced & frozen) apples I'm hoping to make into Cider or Apple wine but don't have a press. I'm hoping to make 4-5 litres as I have a nice 5L demijohn I'd like to...

What is it? What is it worth?

This press is for sale at a local flee market. Does any one recognize it? What would it be worth. I would be purchasing more for decor than actual use, but would it work? Thanks for any insight.

    'apple' or wine pres questions..

If I were to buy a press to get my own juices, do I still use the same amount of fruit in the recipes? If not, what do i do? I ask this because I have a pear tree which will produce more fruit them I can make wine with at once. So I want to press the pears and freeze juice for other batches..
