    Powdered tannin,that is.A pound costs about 2X what an ounce does.A pound is an awfull lot but... Is there a shelf life?At what temp.?I can vacuum seal.Before I buy your input would be greatly appreciated.

    FREE YEAST!

    Long story-I am planning a 5 gallon batch using a 96 oz Vintners Harvest elderberry and 6 lb frozen blueberrys. It's 25 miles one way to the nearest supplys so I order most online. One packet of yeast plus shipping is almost as much as 10 with free shipping.I bought 10. Only need 1...Gonna keep...

    Looking ahead to when I rebuild,,My corker-has plastic jaws can I replace with the brass ones?I's there any advantage to do this?Also what do you use to lube?

    cork waxing

    I just bottled some cider that has been bulk aged about 1 year.Planning to age it 3 or more in bottles.I have never waxed but think this is something I should be doing.Is there a rule of thumb for when you need to?My cellar is kinda damp and around 62 degrees.Also is it as simple as it would seem?

    elderberry update

    started another yeast culture and went to get a cupof must.tiny bubbles have developed on top-looking like a slow start ferment.made must adds to yeast-looking healthy.dont know if I should wait and see or add the new yeast.??

    elderberry no go

    Early this I started a batch of elderberry.Used a can of Vintners Harvest(96oz)and followed directions.Not having the Vintners brand yeast I subbed Red Star Cotes des Blanc.Two attempts both showed a healthy start but no life signs a day after pitch.I'm thinking high so2.Directions call for 5...
