    Seaweed wine

Though I'm unaware of the problems you might encounter making this wine, I fully encourage radical experimentation. Maybe take a look at the grass clippings recipe Jack Keller put together as a challenge? ha ha Make sure to sanitize well and keep us posted!

Peach Wine recipe with fresh peaches

Just wondering, why do you say 1122 instead of D47 Julie? I always thought that D47 was ideal for both fresh fruit flavours and "whitish" style wines? Perhaps I just don't know 1122's characteristics well enough.

    Other woods?

I cannot testify to what other wood would do to a wine (something I've always wondered myself), but I can tell you that the process for preparing your own wood (smoking etc.) is VERY difficult and length taking years to complete. This is based on my own research and other conversations I've seen.

    Braggot plans cooking..

Sounds like your braggot is fixin to be delicious! I see many braggots made with lighter malt but not so many with darker. I hope you can keep us posted on this batch all the way through tasting.

    Braggot plans cooking..

You're correct about the dating on the site fatbloke. I like it cuz it gives you a place to start as far as the grain bill and hops are concerned. Downwards, another thing to keep in mind is that many of the properties of the hops will have completely vanished (I think primarily the aromas) if...

    Braggot plans cooking..

Hey Downwards! Have you tried searching around for other recipes and see what they've done with their grains? I think there are some good recipes over on a site called Cat's Meow 3 (just google it). I've been wanting to try a braggot for awhile but for now I'm just sitting on a recipe I put...

How many times a day do you check the forum?

I must be checking it at least 4 times a day! I'm new to the forum and winemaking but I can't seem to get enough of either!

    Hops?

Well there's always braggot to consider. It's a kind of hybrid between beer and mead that one can tailor to be more or less "beery". I don't know much about them but they've always intrigued me as I love a good beer just as much as a glass of wine! I've yet to find a recipe that satisfies me...

    Wine Supply in Canada

I've done the basic Google many, many times. I live in rural Alberta about 45 minutes from the nearest grocery store. Certainly far from any wine supply. I do go to school in Lethbridge but the shops here don't have the variety in yeast I want.

    Wine Supply in Canada

I've been looking for quite some time for a good wine supply place online to order from. I live a good distance from, well, anywhere and so need to order online, which is great if you live in the States. I'm looking primarily for a wide variety of yeasts. Help please!

    Your favorite "Off-beat" Wine

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum and winemaking but I fancy I know a bit about wine from research and such. First off, Gatorade? Really? Wouldn't the preservative kill of the yeast? If not, how did it turn out? My girlfriend is obsessed with Powerade so I figure your recipe should transfer...
