I racked my California merlot from primary to secondary last night, topped off with a little water, stirred well and put on airlock. I sit the carboy in my lil holding area. I went back to check on it in 20 minutes and :se, airlock had blown off and merlot was splattered on walls and floor...

I started my kit on oct 12th, then i racked to carboy oct 16 @ 1040, last night the 18th my hydro showed .990 and i see a hardly no action in airlock. Should i wait a few days or rack off the sediments into another carboy. Thanks, this is my first try.

Good morning, I recently ordered thePremier Scratch 5-Gallon Package for Home Wine Makers kit along with California Reserve Merlot and Peach Channardonay wine kits.. Should I make the Merlot first and then the peach or buy extra fermenting bucket and carboy to do both?
