What do you use for lagering

Tis the season...or is it? This is more for the southern folks that get winter temperatures in spurts of 3-4 days at a time. I have read several different places about tricks to keep fermenting devices cool, from submerging carboys in larger containers of water to even putting it in a river. I...

    BB Holiday Ale

Kathie (and everyone else who wants to know) My holiday ale has been bottled and conditioned. I couldn't help but chill one and taste it the other night. It is very hoppy and you can really taste the orange and cinimon in it. I feel that the orange flavor somewhat potentiates the hopps but the...

    BB Holiday Ale

I brewed this kit today and let me tell you... my house has never smelled better that it does now. As expected, the instructions were very easy to follow. All the packaging was clearly marked. This is my first kit with grains and hops and it is just about fool-proof. I can't wait until its done...

I live north of Dallas in a small town called Frisco (those of you from around here should get the sarcasm). I was introduced to homebrewing by a friend of mine at work so Ispent a small fortune...

Should I Throw it out and start over

For those who are interested, I added my clarifying agents and racked this (not so) messed up wine for the final time until I bottle it. I think it will turn out fine as you all suggested. I stopped by the store today and was reassured by George that all would be fine and that a little sugar...

Should I Throw it out and start over

This is my first attempt at making wine. I am new to the winemaking/ homebrew as I have made one batch of beer and had to justify the purchase of all of this equipment to my wife by making her some wine. Lucky for me, she doesn't like the more complex tasting wine and she chose an Apple Reisling...
