    WineXpert Elderflowers Question

I have the Selection Limited Edition German Gewürztraminer kit, it came with a pack of elderflowers and the instructions don't say when to add them. I'm guessing I should add them in place of the oak in step one, but thought I would ask some of the more expert wine makers here rather than take a...

    My label

I like your label, it looks very nice on the bottle. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who don't label the beer, I don't label my wine coolers either, they don't seem to last long enough to worry about it

    Filtering Wine

Do the filters do a good job on fruit wines? I have a rhubarb I started in March and it isn't even close to clearing. The rhubarb is my first fruit wine, even if it don't clear it has been a great learning experience the more I read the more I find out what I did or didnt' do right. What...

RJ Spagnols RJS Orange Chocolate Port

Wade - the date on the label is 20061114. The store I bought it at has had the kits since last Christmas, he put them on sale and I couldn't resist. Dave - I'm glad to hear bulk aging works and it tastes good.

RJ Spagnols RJS Orange Chocolate Port

I just purchased the RJS Orange Chocolate Port and read the instructions. My question is, the directions note: the wine contains residual sugar so it is mandatory that you filter your wine prior to bottling. I don't have a filter, is there any way to filter other than purchasing an expensive filter?

    Red Hucklberry wine

Here is an update on the huckleberry wine. I started it on 3-25 sg 1.096 temp 70 degrees. I checked the sg on 3-30, still 1.096 added 1/2 tsp yeast nutrient. Checked sg today 1.070 so I added 1 tsp yeast nutrient. I've been checking this wine daily for action and stirring, can see the bubbles...

    Bottle delabeling week!

I like the free bottles too, and have some great friends who keep me supplied. I had a bunch soaking in the bathtub when my son came home from the university, he went back to tell all his friends what a redneck family he has. He calls the bottle tree my redneck Christmas tree, and tells me it's...

    Red Hucklberry wine

Jobe05…. The pantyhose thing made me laugh, or maybe it was what I have done with pantyhose in the past………. I have to share this story with you, and I hope it isn’t one of those “I guess you just had to be there stories”, because it was very funny. First a little history: Several years ago I...

    Red Hucklberry wine

I have a recipe that calls for 2 1/2 lbs huckleberries for one gallon wine. I have about 3 1/2 lbs in the freezer my brother-in-law gave me. I will start a batch this weekend and post pictures. I do have a question for anyone who uses the steamer juicer. The recipe I have calls for 1 lb of...

Welcome to the forum and a great hobby!!! My first car was a 1968 Chevy Bel Air with a standard transmission, I remember it jerking a lot when I was first learning to drive, but I was so happy to have my own car I didn't care (I was 15). I didn't camp in the car, but it took me and my tent...
