    Purple Grapes

They sound like wine making grapes to me! heheh :sm
  4. LJPelletier

    Adding white grape concentrate

Why would it be a problem? I doubt you'd even notice a difference.

Whos got a good beer batter recipe for fish?

Simple. Take some beer of your choice, maybe 1 cup or so, maybe less depending on how much you need. Add some rice flour. Whisk or stir well. Don't add too much rice flour... try 1/2 cup to the cup of beer, whisk it in, then add more bit by bit, stirring it in, until it's a consistency of...

From Carboys to 6 gallon bucket

Don't forget what you made it with! lol :sm F-pack and back sweetening does a lot for skeeter pee... I have also heard that letting it age for a year or so also helps a lot (I haven't got that far yet lol)

My corks seem too big, is this normal?

It's funny, I read through that and somehow my mind only took in potassium sulfite... I didn't even see sorbate :ib

My corks seem too big, is this normal?

I'm sure you're right on that, I just have to have the $$ to invest first. I have seen a couple used ones online for under $50, and will probably upgrade in the new year. :D

Pear wine, first time. Freaking out lol

Are you sure it is/was mold? I really don't know how to comment on that. As I said, personally I would not want to drink mold. I wouldn't say throw it out unless I was totally sure it was mold, and totally sure that it isn't something that could be fixed. If you have already added yeast...

Pear wine, first time. Freaking out lol

Mold?? Yikes... that's definitely not normal. :( I don't know if you could remove the mold and add potassium bisulphite to kill anything off? I don't think I would ever drink moldy juice, unless maybe I was stranded in the desert... as for making wine with it, same thoughts of not wanting to...

My corks seem too big, is this normal?

Thanks for the tips. Floor corkers cost $. This hand corker was included with a bunch of used equip. I'm soaking some corks now. If it doesn't work I guess I'm going to need to drink faster. :d

My corks seem too big, is this normal?

They really seem too big. Is it really going to shrink that much? I'm applying quite a bit of pressure with the hand corker, but it feels like I'm going to break the bottle if I push any harder.

    I'm not complaining but.....

Actually you would have to distill it several times to fuel a rocket :slp

    Oh Dear, out of sugar

How much does that 25lb bag cost where you live? The regular price for the large bag here (10Kg which I think is about 22lbs) is $11.98. Sometimes it's on sale for around $10

    Oh Dear, out of sugar

TAB, I didn't realize your powdered sugar had corn starch in it... I would definitely say corn starch is NOT something you want in your drink.... although if you have already added it, it may end up settling okay in the end anyways. Corn starch makes liquids thick upon cooking, so it may not be...

    my first pee

For the record, I added cranberries to skeeter pee and all it did was make it pinkish... still tasted like pure lemon lol :d

    my first pee

I'm way late with the response, but yes Tabitharl, you should be able to use your powdered sugar if you have to. The only downside to that is it costs way more than plain table sugar. If it's icing sugar, it's the same stuff, just powdered. If it's dextrose of fructose, it's different, but will...
