I watched a couple of video's, "Wine making With Joe". Kind of an off beat entertaining guy; maybe some of you have heard of him. Anyway, he stresses as he should, sanitizing but I'm confused with his sanitizing methods.
I've always used San Star so I never rinsed once applied. He sprays his equipment with sulfites and within seconds is rinsing the items with tap water. Does that defeat the sanitizing process or are we to assume tap water is already sanitized since he is dumping that same water into his wine kits anyway.
As a former brewer, I have always been super careful with sanitizing and once done I would never consider rinsing. Can anyone help me clear this up and perhaps ease my concerns?
