Decided to get back into beer brewing a few weeks ago after a good 4 year hiatus. I made a Guinness clone kit and I went to bottle it yesterday. Went to the LHBS and picked out 2 cases of the EZ top Grolsch style bottles that are 16oz each. Stupid me remembered that a 5 gallon batch makes 2 (12 oz) cases. I should have done my homework because you need 4 cases of 12 oz beer bottles for 5 gallons.
Needless to say I bottled the rest in wine bottles and corked them. They went into the super cold beer fridge downstairs and I had to buy 2 more cases of bottles today to transfer them back before the exploded. Almost worst is I had to waste 11 first quality corks for an overnight stay in the wine bottles. DO YOUR HOMEWORK PEOPLE!
