Hey all,

I've been clearing this wine for a few months. Decided to just add sparkaloid to speed it up. A few days later I noticed this growth. Had been dosed with K Meta prior to clearing. Seems it is sitting on the bottom of the carboy as well.

Any help is appreciated!

Had something somewhat similar to this. Never got to the bottom of it though. I racked the wine and made sure not to transfer over any of the dirty bits and all was well after. Didn’t notice until the scheduled racking after clearing. Seems to be the same timeframe as your wine.

Found the thread from when I posted about it couple years ago.

flower of wine is usually a surface bacteria, needs air to start, most times the wine did not have enough K-meta added. check ph because that would affect how much so2 should be present .
