Out of curiosity, I was wondering when to start stirring. A day after getting everything in, or when fermentation first starts? The instructions only mention stirring when adding stabilizers, etc. but have seen quite a few posts about stirring four to five times a day.

At least once a day during 'primary' fermentation time starting when you put the yeast in. More often if needed to keep fruit bags moist. Especially when you have a wine with a large quantity of foam.

I assume you are doing a wine kit. The simple answer is you dont have to stir unless the instructions tell you to stir. Many on here choose to stir daily during fermentation. Stirring wont hurt anything. I myself only stir kits that have a grape skin pack. All others I leave alone to do their thing. Never been an issue. To each their own.

cheers
