I hope you have a corkscrew with a really long helix! Like Dan and Julie pointed out, don't feel like the Lone Ranger. It has been done by others. Thanks for sharing.
 
Was bottling with a friend and using my vac pump and bottling jig. Of course he had never used this type of setup before. he was in change of filling and me corking-lables-neck labels. Guess i was paying too much attention to ensuring he got the filling correct and lost track of my job. New something was off but thought the bottle was too full. It wasn't till i got to the end and was 1 cork short that i figured out what was up. Managed to get everything out OK and recork so no harm - no foul and we had a good laugh.

Lucky the bottle did not break... Did the same once an bottle exploded .....
 
Had that happen a couple of times, especially when the chatter in the winery is jovial.

You know when it happens when wine shoots up at you while at the corker.
