I live in northeast wisconsin and would like to grow some grapes on my land. I like a sweet wine not dry, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do you want grape juice with a kick? If so try concord.

I would also recommend seeking out examples of wines made locally before you go plant a bunch of vines. Here are some links to WI wineries that have wines made from WI grown grapes:

Parallel 44 in Kewaunee

Wollersheim out of Sauk City

Bauer Kerns in Platteville

Botham outside of Mt. Horeb

Even more can be found here.

Generally speaking there are a bunch of varities of hybrids that can grow in WI. This is a list off of the top of my head, sure there are more. All I think could be made sweet, semi-sweet, or dry.

Red:
Marchel Foch
Marquette
Frontenac

White:
St Pepin
Frontenac Gris
La Crescent

University of Minnesota has done a ton of research into creating hybrid wine grapes that are hardy in northern climates. It sounds cliche but a google search will yield hours of reading material.
