What to do when in the barrell

I made 3 barrels of homemade zin this year and I am aging it in french oak. What are some things I can do to make it turn out better while in the barrell? Right now i'm just leaving it alone and topping it once every 8 days. Is there anything I could do like stirring it do add flavor or anything of that nature? Thank you.
