This is my 2020 Malbec. It’s been completely trouble free since crush day. I ran it through a new barrel (for two months) then racked it into clean carboys. I check the carboys periodically.

This weekend I noticed a light colored film on top of the wine in one of the carboys. I’m going to avoid panicking and take a breath. Then ask the question of the good people of this forum:

What do you suppose this is??

The normal answer for a “clean” wine doing a surface film is mycoderma AKA flowers.
I would try to remove with paper towel then add meta and or spray a few ml of grain alcohol on the surface.

I’d agree with @Rice_Guy. Normally associated with oxygen exposure. You could also overfill with a topping wine, flushing the top surface out. Remove enough for the bung, hit with a strong dose of SO2, keep topped.

check your ph . so2 dosage is usually ph related may not be enough. verify your airlock is seated correctly flowers of wine need oxygen to grow.
