Used 1 tsp of k meta instead of 1/4 tsp for carboy aging

Oops, I put 1 tsp of k meta into the bottom of a 6 gal carboy before racking a kit of pinot grigio into it for aging. I thought that seemed like a lot for 1/4 tsp but it didn't click-in, turns out I used the wrong scoop in my set. Did I ruin my wine? Or should I just let it age for 6 months or a year instead of 3 months, without adding more k meta?

I believe you will be ok, it’s probably not necessary to delay your next racking. Do another check at 3 months, you probably won’t smell or taste anything other than a well protected wine.

If you small a burnt match smell, that is excess SO2. You won't need to add more k-meta the next racking, and the smell will go away eventually

leave it alone. It could a year to sort itself out unless you blend it.
