Despite having 12 meads in aging, and my wife complaining, the itch won out, and I was compelled to start a blueberry mead today.

Don't know why,but I feel excited and good about this one. Going to keep it simple: Arizona wildflower honey, fresh blueberries, and some medium toast American oak in secondary

Sounds delicious. Do you backsweeten? to what S.G.?

I'm not a fan of backsweetening or highly sweet meads. This should come in between 1010 and 1020 final gravity, and I think the tartness from the berries and some oaking will help balance things out well
