talking to your children

I've noticed that many parents have absolutely no idea how to communicate effectively with their children. It's really a matter of knowing what matters to them and using that knowledge properly.

Today is case in point. My son planned to come over to work on wines. For various reasons he tried to switch dates.

I mentioned I was making goat cheese stuffed chicken breast for dinner, served with a nice Seyval/Chardonnay, and suddenly he changed his mind.

A always a good idea to make sure children know what will be on the menu. My daughters generally don't care, but the sonin laws live for my brisket.
