Sweeten a wine

If you backsweeten a wine twice - a few weeks apart - is it necessary to add sorbate each time?

Or is sorbate a one time thing no matter how many times you add sugar to backsweeten?

i know sorbate can change to taste of the wine...I would not chance it. I had a bad experience once with over-sorbating a blueberry wine once.
