Have you thought about a simple swale along the edge of her property to intercept the drainage and carry it off her property? It's always a better idea to stop it from getting to the house rather than trying to get rid of it after it's there. Hopefully the city will make the dealership take care of it as should have been done in the forst place. Keep us posted!
 
Yea, a retaining wall or even sand bags would probably do the trick to divert the runoff out enough away from the house where it would head out to the street and downhill from there. Hoping the City will fix this ultimately. We certainly didn't do anything to cause this. So the City should step up at a minimum to control proper stormwater runoff that is causing damage. This house sits at the top of a hill, not in a flood zone by any means.

Did I say anything about diverting the water into a neighbor's yard. No! If you read the entire thread, you'd see that the house is on a hill and the water that's an issue eventually winds up flowing on to the street. A swale could be constructed to intercept the water before it gets to the house and send it onto the street.
