Hi everyone, newbie here.

I'm not sure hot to call this stuff - strange membrane on top of my already fermented wine from Lithuanian (north europe) red grapes in late autumn.

After fermentation ended it was left for ~1.5 month unattended to sit in this plastic 6 gal. carboy, which had 1inch of space between wine and carboy cover, but was air locked.

Smell is the same like from other identical batch, which was not having this issue.

Any ideas would be very appreciated, thanks :)

the "membrane" is actually flower of wine a surface bacteria that require oxygen exposure to start. rack the wine immediately and add at least 1/2 tsp of K-meta for 5 gallons. make sure the new vessel is oxygen tight and add a good airlock. if wine is clear I would bottle as soon as possible and consume as soon as possible
