WMT Universe! Getting ready for my Malbec to arrive in about a month. I have a frozen drum (45 gallons) arriving in Tacoma. I’m looking for a yeast that doesn’t produce H2S (like Avante) that is specifically formulated to highlight the characteristics of Malbec. I want to make an order for yeasties this week. I’m ordering from Lodi Labs as they have a great price on CH16 and supply Avante. Also worth mentioning, I have a drum of Sangiovese and Cab Sauv coming in the same order. I’ll be pitching Avante in each of those.

Anyone have success using a particular yeast for Malbec that prevents H2S?

Bravo might be a choice, and if you want, I'll trade 100gm of Avante(red) or Allegro(white). Not speaking from experience, but more from a "I want to try this" perspective.

But Avante is so good, I might be tempted to just use that. In 3 years, not 1 issue and not even one "I wish I'd used another yeast" issue.

I'll likely buy some Bravo this year regardless.
